燈とは — What is Tomoshibi

A book-length portrait of one person, read through six independent traditions — and a record of where they agree.

Its purpose

A tool to decode reality

Not prediction. Not advice. An instrument for reading the structure underneath a single life — yours.

Its premise

Liberation begins with seeing

You cannot move through what you cannot yet see. The work begins the moment the pattern becomes visible.

Its promise

To understand your existence

Who you are beneath the role, the inheritance, the borrowed self-image — described precisely enough to recognize.

Its form

A digital document

A typeset PDF of fifty-five to eighty pages, written for one reader, delivered by hand.

Six traditions illuminate one light.

One tradition, on its own, is an opinion. Six that share no method, and agree anyway, are information.

II · 試読 · A Reading

It cannot be described.
Only read.

A real Tōhan, fully anonymized — seventy-six pages, of which ten are opened here. Hold your light to the dark, and read.

The Element You Live In

Anyone who meets you at the surface leaves with the same impression, and it is always some version of the same word: steady. Considered. Even. A person who does not rush, does not flare, does not show heat. The impression is not wrong. It simply does not go very far down.

Underneath the steady surface is fire. Not a warm fire, not a hearth — a fire with nothing near it to put it out, no cool water anywhere in the system, nothing to temper it. It does not burn fast. Over a lifetime it has learned to look like a field: patient, agricultural, the kind of quiet ground people cross without wondering what is beneath it. But the fire is the truth of the place. The field is the cover it has worn since childhood.

You have spent most of your life being read as the field. Some part of you has always known you were the fire. The two readings have never fully reconciled, and the distance between how you are seen and what you actually are has been, quietly, one of the organizing facts of your life — the thing you have managed, accommodated, and occasionally resented, without ever quite naming it.

The element you live in is not the one others see.
II · 構造 · THE ARCHITECTURE— 15 —
Architectural Fact 1
深淵
The Depth Beneath

The chart’s entire center of gravity sits below the horizon, in the house of the hidden, and it sits there by design. Three bodies occupy the twelfth house in Taurus — the Sun at twenty-two degrees, Mercury at nine, Saturn at eight — so the self, the intellect, and the architecture of the person are all conducting their primary business in the room two thousand years of tradition assigns to what is carried but not shown.

It is worth being exact about what forces the reading, because a skeptic should be able to check it. Taurus, as a sign, points the other way entirely — the most worldly, embodied sign of the zodiac. What submerges the self is not the sign but the house, and the house is not a matter of emphasis or interpretation. It is a calculated position, the same one whether you like the reading or not. The most outwardly grounded sign in the zodiac is conducting its primary business in the room of the hidden. That was not a reading anyone selected.

Vedic recalculation reaches the same place by a different road. Sidereally, the Sun moves back into Aries, into the cutting nakshatra of Krittika — and by the whole-sign house system Vedic tradition uses, it falls in the same twelfth house from the Taurus ascendant. Two systems separated by twenty-five hundred years and twenty-four degrees of arc place the same body in the same functional position.

The convergence is not interpretive. It is mechanical.

III · 誤読 · THE MISREADINGS— 44 —
Misreading 四
“I should already
be there.”

The final misreading is the quietest and the most corrosive, because it does not announce itself as a belief. It runs underneath the others as a background hum: a persistent, low sense that you are behind — that by now, at your age, with your evident capacity, you should have arrived somewhere you have not, and that the gap is a verdict on you.

The hum comes from measuring your position against a clock that is not yours. The clock you are using is the standard one — the cultural timeline that expects a person to have demonstrated, monetized, and visibly arrived by their early thirties. Many of the people around you are genuinely on that clock; for them it is the right one, and they are reading it correctly. You have adopted theirs and read your own life against it.

You are not running late on your schedule. You are running early on theirs — a different statement entirely, and a meaningless one, because theirs was never yours to run. On the only timeline that can render a true verdict on your life, you are finishing the apprenticeship, on the threshold of the activation, precisely on time.

The feeling of being behind is the sound of a clock that was never yours. You are exactly on time.
IV · 仕事 · THE WORK— 47 —
負債
The One Thing This Will Cost You

The portrait was generous, and accurately so. But seeing a person whole means naming what it costs to be them — and there is one cost in your chart the rest of this document has been careful around.

The veil that was built for protection has also, over the years, been put to a second use, and this one is not equipment — it is avoidance. The same threshold that keeps people from seeing you wrongly also keeps anyone from being positioned to tell you something about yourself you have not already authorized. You arrange relationships, subtly, so that you remain the only person with the whole picture — and the cost is that no one is ever close enough, with the full view, to hold you accountable to it.

There is a quiet piece of evidence, and you are holding it. A person who had a few people positioned to read them whole would not need a seventy-page external account of themselves to find out what they are. That is not an accusation. It is the cost, named precisely — because the same instrument that produced everything true in the portrait produced this too.

The veil protects the depth. Make sure it is not also protecting you from being known.
V · 時 · THE TIMING— 55 —
Climate, not weather. The document describes the season — never the event.
2027 令和九年
Activation

The strongest year in the window, by the convergence of every timing system. The solar sub-period shifts in March to the voice-and-writing period; the Personal Year turns to 3, the year of public expression; and Saturn completes its return to its birth position, exact on the fourteenth of October.

Everything points one direction: out. The thing to do is to ship the public-facing work, ideally before the return’s pre-station begins in summer. Expect to be misread at first contact with visibility — the projection load arrives precisely at the moment of public exposure, and it is a feature of the configuration, not a sign of error.

The two months on either side of the fourteenth of October bring decisive clarity about what stays in your life and what falls away. What the configuration will not tell you is the particular event — only that this is the year the structure you have built in private becomes a thing other people can see.

This is the year the rehearsal becomes the performance.

IV · 燈について · About Tomoshibi

A note on what this is.

Most people carry a self-image given to them by others. By family. By school. By work. By culture. And somewhere quiet inside, they suspect it is not quite the truth.

Tomoshibi is a practice for meeting that suspicion.

Western astrology, Vedic astrology, numerology, Human Design, Chinese astrology, tarot. Six independent traditions, each in their own language, describe a single person — you. When six say the same thing, something is being pointed at that is not coincidence.

We do not predict. We do not foretell. We do not tell you what to do.

We make visible the light you already carry.

What you do with it is yours.

手 · The Maker’s Hand
The maker's desk — where each document is composed
矢島 — the maker's seal

Every Tōhan is written by one hand — mine. I calculate the six traditions myself, find where they converge, and compose the portrait the way one writes a long letter to a single reader: slowly, and only once. No template. No second writer.

I take a small number of commissions each year, on purpose. It is the only way the work stays honest, and the only way a document can be what it claims to be — made for one person, and for no one else.

V · 前提 · Premise — Why Now

The path most of us were handed is closing. The question of who you are beneath the role is about to stop being a luxury.

I am a lawyer.
I am a consultant.
I am a software engineer.

These will continue to be sentences people say. For a growing fraction, they will no longer describe anything real.

VII · よくある質問 · FAQ

Quiet questions, quiet answers.

No. Tomoshibi is a practice of self-understanding, not prediction. We do not foretell, do not advise specific decisions, and make no claims about future events. The document is descriptive — a portrait of who you already are, read through six independent traditions. Where it speaks about time, it describes windows and seasons, never events.

Tōhan ($2,000) is a complete portrait of one person — six traditions, fifty-five to eighty pages. Tōen ($5,000) is for two people: two full Tōhan-depth portraits plus a third movement that reads the relationship itself, where it converges, where it diverges, and what it is for. Tōen is the only document that requires birth data for two people.

As a finished digital PDF, typeset in the Tomoshibi layout, to be read at a desk or printed at your discretion. There is no app, no feed, and no login. The document is yours.

After delivery you may exchange written correspondence with us about your document — for Tōhan, sixty days and up to three exchanges of around a thousand words each; for Tōen, ninety days and up to four. Writing makes a slower, more considered dialogue than speech. At the one-year anniversary you receive a short update on the year ahead.

Birth time changes which house and ascendant are calculated, and matters most for the Western and Vedic charts. If you do not know it, we can work from a noon chart and note the limits in the document — though we recommend obtaining your birth record from your municipality first.

In BaZi (Four Pillars) and certain Human Design interpretations, gender affects the calculation. The field is optional; documents can be prepared without it, and those specific traditions will simply use a neutral interpretation.

Your birth data is intimate, and we treat it that way. It is stored encrypted, never shared, never sold, and never used for any purpose beyond preparing your document. On request after delivery, it is deleted from our systems entirely. See our Privacy Policy for the full account.

After we receive your inquiry, we send a secure Stripe payment link by email. Prices are flat and in USD — $2,000 for Tōhan, $5,000 for Tōen. Payment is made once, in full — there are no deposits or instalment plans. Work begins once payment is confirmed.

Yes. We coordinate privately with the recipient to obtain birth data and deliver the document directly to them. It suits a milestone — a significant birthday, a Saturn Return, a wedding in the case of Tōen.

Once written, a document cannot be returned — it has been compiled for one reader. If you feel the reading does not meet the care promised, write to us and we will revise or replace it. The full policy is set out in our Terms and the commercial disclosure.

The inner sanctum waits — continue

VIII · 申し込む · Begin

Like a temple guestbook,
one stroke at a time.

The form is meant to be filled slowly — one question at a time, in the order a temple guestbook would ask them. A Tōhan takes about ninety seconds; Tōen asks for both people’s birth records, and takes a little longer.

After submission, we send a single acknowledgment with a secure payment link, then return when the document is ready. There are no marketing emails between.
